Join me for a day of wise counsel & ceremony to craft your own Totemic (animal-kin) Mask.
Totemic masks have been used as a tool for crossing liminal thresholds during rituals and ceremonies for thousands of years. Pagans & Gnostics frequently celebrated the Summer and Winter solstice(s) and mid-seasonal shifts with spectacular (and sometimes terrifying) mask-wearing ceremonies and parades - as did many traditions and cultures from around the world.
Crafting your own totemic mask is not just about making a mask. It's an invitation to rediscover your wise instinct and intuition - rich medicine to embody throughout life's transitions (grief); your mask becomes a vessel for transformation long after completion.
This workshop will be held in a relaxed-ceremonial manner, shifting between deep process and communal creativity. The option to request quiet and solitude exists too - there’s enough space for your needs - which will met, with maturity and understanding (wise counsel).
A collection of art / crafts will be supplied - including your mask, however, I encourage you to seek, thrift and / or gather embellishments that compliment your chosen animal-kin in the weeks prior to the gathering. Please note: once numbers are confirmed, participants will receive prompts on ‘calling in their animal-kin’ and ways to work with animistic energy.
